ya know...cruising up to the Wiltern and hearing the Indie promos for the show (the one that THEY were presenting) got me to thinking...
The CRUCIAL difference between Indie and KROQ...
Indie PLAYS the Pixies. And believes in them.
KROQ plays bands influenced by bands influenced by the Pixies.
Seems like a simple formula, i'nt that right, Mr. Shovel?
(intentional "s" left out of "isn't" for Jonesy-like pronunciation).

Oh yeah, and how cool was it to find out that Indie was promoting the show?! I mean, Indie's promoted all kinds of shows before, but never for a band that meant as much to me. I can't tell you how thrilled I was to go to their webpage and see the Pixies picture and that my ticket read, "Indie 103.1 presents the Pixies." One of my all time favorite bands brought to you by my all time favorite radio station. Life is sweet sometimes.
