a little bit about myself... i'm just a simple indie listener from a tiny trailer park in sylmar. your big city music frightens me with it's heavy distortion and provacative rhythms. but one thing i do know is that indie plays some great music and has the best listeners out there.

i got me hooked on the jonezy blog...

(btw the first paragraph was a parody of Unfrozen Caveman Lawyer from SNL)

glad to be aboard, bite all you want, i taste like tapatio

well i LIVE in pasadena, but i work in north hollywood where i graphically moleste felix with my photoshop tools.

i WAS taking music classes at PCC but had to skip this semester because i had to go back to working full time to afford my tiny tiny room in some old spider infested house... those spiders DO bite, so im used to it :)

oh i also listen to a lot of static in pasadena because kroq must have some kind of jamming device to keep the indie signal weak.

Dicky is very charming, his playlists are awesome and so are his guests.

"i hear your footsteps in street, wont be long before we meet... ahhh its obvious"

what i like most about dicky is the way he interviews female guests, since most of them probably want to get in his pants

like when sarah silverman was on, and she had her shoes off and he made fun of her hairy legs and she was like speechless... ive seen him do this to other guests too and it is just such great radio.

I do like The Smiths more than Morrissey.... Morrissey is amazing, I love him... but there is definetely something missing from his music as a solo artist... it was just more complete as The Smiths. I just think he has more misses than hits as a solo.

Yeah, Marr just had a more rockin' style. Like Simon and Garfunkle... Simon was brilliant and went on to do his own stuff while Garfunkle went into obscurity, but they never were able to put out anything better than what they did when they were together. Even the Beatles... you cant consider anything that Mccartney or Lennon did after the Beatles was up to par... there weer some songs like "Imagine" or Wings "Baby Im Amazed"

I'll have to disagree....... John Lennons solo career was flawless and as much as I love the Beatles, I do think John Lennon did so much better when he moved on.

hmm

maybe i need to listen to more Lennon, i didnt realize he had such a huge discography. what do you think of Yoko Ono?

Having lived through the whole thing...Beatles....post Beatles....Yoko and John....Paul and WHATS HER NAME (yeah fuckit...I am still bitter that he didn't marry my 6 year old ass first)....anyway...to me, the whole thing was an evolution....culmulating in their solo careers....I remember getting Ram~Wings in third grade and being so stoked to hear my Paul again....

I do think now that with some reflection that John was the more talented of the two...although, back when I was 6-11, I'd have allowed Paul to sweep me away in a nanosecond.....

being on the solo tip, i guess they finally got the freedom to play and compose what they wanted without having to deal with the different egos in the band. me thinks the creative juices (and patience) just dried up, which was why marr left the smiths, or at least thats the official story.

I actually wanted my parents to adopt John Lennon in the 70's when he was facing deportation...my 'rents loved the Beatles but they thought I had lost my ever loving freaking mind....

Yeah, John Lennon has a huge dicography. And what amazes me is that all of it is perfect and gorgeous. How do you do that? How do you make so much great music??? I agree with Gidge, it was definetely an evolution, and Lennon didn't reach his full potential until he was on his own. Speaking of which... I think of Yoko Ono as a muse, and she had so much to do with his music that I think it's great. She definetely complimented him on a lot of songs he put her in.... and although some of her own stuff has sucked, a lot of it has been really interesting and even pretty good.

yoko

the fact that john and yoko were so intensely in love must have fueled his creative genius. sparking his imagination, providing him his inspiration.

... omg, love is the answer!

In the words of John Lennon:

Love is real , real is love
Love is feeling , feeling love
Love is wanting to be loved

Love is touch, touch is love
Love is reaching, reaching love
Love is asking to be loved

Love is you
You and me
Love is knowing
we can be

Love is free, free is love
Love is living, living love
Love is needing to be loved
