Some of you may be delighted to know re Glenn's "enjoy" post that the Jonesy blog is missing it's last topic, a blog Steve titled, "enjoy" - perhaps this means that the jb blog has come to an end...perhaps not.

Well it was good while it lasted if it has...

and if it hasn't...

12bells!

Perhaps it has something to do with threatening the host of another show on Jonesys Blog... just a thought.

What spurred the new found "rules"?

Posted: Mon Jan 30, 2006 2:34 pm
by Glenn
I am not sure of any details but the from what I gather so far...

1. x x x
2. x x x
3. x x x

...These details "could" be inaccurate casue I just don't know.

Well I have just been informed that these details are indeed absolutely false.

O well it was a good guess.

"Inspiring developments -- Democracy is on the march in the Middle East. Yesterday, hundreds of thousands of Palestinians hit the polls for the first time of parliamentary elections in ten years. Which democratically elected party walked away victorious? Oh, it's Hamas! Yes, Hamas the militant Islamic group that is very anti-American and calls for the destruction of Israel, and wants a theocracy in Palestine. Though, on the plus side, they have returned all the money given to them by Jack Abramoff." --Jon Stewart

"Ultimately, Stephen Harper, the conservative, is the new prime minister, ending 13 years of liberal rule in Canada. They picked up not as many parliamentary seats as they thought they might, but they picked up quite a few, more than the liberals. Martin has resigned as liberal party head. But the real question on everybody's mind is, can we still stitch their flags on our backpacks to get through Europe?" --Jon Stewart

"Yes, (Jack Abramoff attended) only two Hanukkah receptions (at the White House). But the bribes miraculously lasted for 8 whole days." --Jon Stewart

I gotta watch more Daily Show. I always seem to miss it though.

Even though the Palestine election is potentialy a disaster for the Middle East & rest of the world I just gotta laugh at the irony of the election results. A big step forward for democracy. Let's see what happens.

Great pic, Glenn. I just saw "Whale Rider" again ths weekend because my wife hadn't seen it yet. I love all that "warrior school" stuff. Didn't their mothers tell them that if they made that face, it might freeze that way?

Posted: Mon Jan 30, 2006 5:37 pm

Yeah Whale Riders was a cool movie. I saw it on the big screen.

Havent seen "Once Where Warriors" yet but have heard it is good. Maybe Ill get on netflicks next.

New Zealand has it's own mini Hollywood going on at the moment. A la Jackson.

If there faces freeze that way just put them on the rugby team scrum.

I'm delighted that Mr. Shovel reinstated the blog - I wish he could freshen it up in time for new guests.

How severe are the new rools set by Jack and which ones will render you for something extraordinary?

Does anyone ever read the "Terms of Use" linked at the bottom of every page on the Indie site ?

This one line in the thing makes the removal justifiable;

"You agree that you will not ..... Deliver, or provide links to, any postings containing material that could be considered harmful, obscene, pornographic, indecent, lewd, violent, abusive, profane, insulting, threatening, tortuous, harassing, hateful or otherwise objectionable."

The topics and tone of those comments are insane. I have not seen comment sections veering off that badly since the earliest days of the web. Is it the first time the people on that site have used computers ?
I am actually a little surprised that it lasted as long as it did. Now all the good stuff is gone as well. If i was floratina, say, i would just stop the transcribing as idiots like shloemoe/rotter etc are just going to ruin it for everyone. Some of the other regulars did seem to be encouraging those clowns as well.
