banks

That bank that has a stagecoach as a logo also suck. Citibank is pretty bad too.

I just wanna find one that doesn't stick you with fees every time you turn around.

I get charged if I go inside. They lost an $1800 deposit of mine and say it cleared, yet it isn't on any of my statements (paper & online), the people that wrote the checks to me say they haven't cleared, but BofA says they have, and my balance is $1800 less than what it should be.

deposit this

Wow. That's enough to go on a murderous rampage about, much less change banks.

Well, I have to say, in many years of banking with Citibank, they've NEVER lost or misrecorded any deposit of mine. And I've done third-party checks at ATMs and cash.

BofA blows goats..and my mother used to work for them....when she passed away, they issued me the retirement funds..and when I deposited them into my BofA account, they put a hold on them becuase they were "out of state" funds...I called 'em and said: HEY BRAINTRUST....it was a BofA check, dumbasses....~shaking head~

Credit Unions are a good option....

Yikes, and I just came to B of A a few years ago to escape shitty banking procedures. I doubt anyone here has an account with, or that Tom is considering going to Fidelity Federal, since it's not that big of a branch. But just in case you do, let me give warning of their past history. They ended up overcharging my parents (along with dozens of other customers) several hundred dollars. It wasn't just a simple slip up either, the head of the bank was fired shortly after and escorted out through security. That was about 18 months ago and the bank still has yet to reimburse anyone with the money they overpaid. I'm skeptical we'll ever see a penny.

How about this, I wrote myself a $5000 check out of my BofA account and deposited it in the same account and they held it for 10 days to make sure funds were available. They amaze me!

Ya notice how the error is never putting too much money into your account or something to that nature. It's always the exact opposite. Or, if they ever did accidentally credit your account with too much payola, they'd be on it the next day to get it all back. Greedy bastards.

Mhm and I think the branch manager had to apologize and buy him dinner to get the money back. I wonder if legally he could've kept it.

I dunno. I am sure that if there wasn't a code section for it before, there is now.

That gives them 10 days to play the stock market with yout money.

They did the same to me once and I complained bitterly casue I wrote checks against a large deposit (a government tax refund by the way) and they still decided to hold the money for 10 days or so.

Whose money is it? Jeez.

Yeah, WAMU is Washington Mutual, sorry it's "lender" talk I picked up at my last job. They really are a great bank.

NO! NO! NO! Do not support WAMU! They screw people on loans.

There was a thing on the news a few years back about them. I think it was on 60 Minutes. They foreclosed on someones house, because they made an error. But the house was already sold when they were proven to be at fault, and they never made good with the person. They talked about a few other things they did that screwed over their own customers as well, but I can't remember what they were now.

I use Bank of the West for a local bank, and NetBank for my main bank (online only). I've had problems in the past with Well's Fargo, and Great Western when they were around.
