Did anyone else watch The Road to 9/11 yesterday

Post by Glenn »

ABC mini series started last night about the events leading to 9/11. The mini-series finishes tonight. Did else anyone watch it?

I thought it was quite good, Clinton bashing and all.

Yeah. I just wrote an anti-newscorp song. Subtle prodding at them. Ruport Murdoch would through a cow if he heard the song. Cutting edge indie pop, bring down the system from within I say.

it ripps them is half...in a subtle way...that no one will understand. That is just my style. The only person who would get it is Rupert Murdoch himeself. Will likely sail over everyone elses head. Yes, it's intellectual music.

It's not a punk song so wouldnt work like the punk way. "aaarhhh fuck newscorp!" etc.

I think it may just well become an indie pop anthem

Murdoch says:
Listen son!... until you realize it's not about the artistry or the social conciousness...you'll never make it in this industry!... The biz is all about marketing Marketing!...do you understand?

I heard jonsey lament today that he hasn't been syndicated....bless
his idiot heart....I dont think he understands radio sometimes.....
I think that's why I USED to like him so much...but now he irritates me.
...first time I listened in months...

nothing!... other than you sell something in the exchange
you have contractual obligations....his "I play what I like....
You cant please everybody"....would have to change very
quickly to something else(ubruptly like)...and isn't that the
deffinition of a sell out?.....prestige and creditbilty....ZoInK!

You dont think Jonsey is riding the the crest of the new order?
...do you?...that he will reform radio?..or that radio will ever change
..he is a Market phenomena.......well enough for now...Im not
in a "stiring up mood"

(as always in walks The Devils Advocate....HISSSSSS!)

what would your purpose be in running a pirate station rot?
If no one heard of its existance...how would they know to tune in?
would you just beem your signal to nowhere?

Marketing at its best is a legitimate form of communication(Hate having to admit that :x )...at its worst it's lies and mind control....but when money and greed are in the balance...well?....it becomes a different subject?
no?

I loved The Clinton Administration!!!!....but I think getting your dick sucked in the oval office is totally disrespectful of the office of the
presidency!...and that stupid act brought real shame on his self and
the good people he assembled in his administration...Fuck he was impeached!

But who am I to cast stones?....At that time I was paying a debt to The people of California......Who'da thunk a turd could be a prude?
....but such is the complexity of he who is Shloemoe The Great!!!!!
I have spoken!!!!....why doesn't Ass make fun o me anymore?
I need to be against the grain!

...btw jr ya gotta be pretty liberal to call Clinton Conservative...he's moderate....dont trip!..I love liberals!!!!

yes getting caught with the intern was embarrassing ...
but it is infinitely more embarrassing to have to live the shame of not once but twice electing a coke whoring idiot as president to these united states. and then having to suffer through his inadequacies... the man is a complete moron.. totally void of "thinking on his feet.."

btw - clinton was pretty conservative..i didnt say totally... but he was far from left field... he was a good president.

(in walks The Satan of argument(fer arguments sake of course))

This is a special time in the history of the world. I wonder if it
wouldn't be better for America to consolidate it gains globally
by increasing our military power in the world?...perhaps starting
the draft again and making our enemys tremble...you know the
romans enjoyed hundreds of years of peace because they conquered
most of the "known" world (The pax Romana) We shouldn't seek war
with the nuclear countries but maybe these Islamic haters should be
"pacified"....but what do I know for I am merely "Shloemoe the Great"!!!

5 hours.

I gotta say I enjoyed it. Very watchable.

I am just the type of person that likes hearing both sides.

I also liked farenhieight 9/11.

Both have equal agenda. One from each side.

I am sure that somebody will have a reply for this movie before long.

40 million bucks to make & no advertising? I wonder how they pulled that off. Ratings is all about the advertising no? I dont know how they made money.

Probably produced & payed for by an outside party (as in Republican) who made ABC an offer they couldn't refuse. ABC must have gotten payed well enough that they agreed to air it without commercials.

Well put, Glenn. I try to be someone who considers both sides of every issue myself, which is why I usually think anyone too far on either side of the political scale is nuts. I didn't actually watch the mini series, but the fact that they pinned it on Clinton is pretty funny. I would have just liked to have seen all the Farenheit 9/11 supporters cringe in their seats when they saw this. If someone hails Farenheit as such a great film and ignores the fact that it's completely one-sided, you deserve to have a biased film on the other side of the spectrum like this one.

I don't really care about politics...I find it boring and unserving to real needs of real people that have real concern. They all lie in office and at campaign time they lie to my face when they come knockin for my vote.I hate em' all...boring,lying cunts in nice clothes and perfucked haircuts. A few times me and Maddie called our parliament bitch to get answers for whatever and they lie,lie,lie.....then pass the buck to another office.I feel most government workers are fucking drones...emotionless,plastic,and uncaring......except at election time, then they listen and bobble their fuckin head up and down with blank stares saying they can make things better for the working class.

Nuts!.....Nuts! ...you are all nuts!!!!(Shloemoe the great returns to
counting some marbles he has in a bag...and looks up to say...):

I hear ya rot...I dont think I'll ever participate in "the process" again...

About 50% for bush,50% for gore
about 50% for bush,50% for Kerry
...see the pattern here...this is what evils can come from "marketing
and advertising"...Gary Hart said it on The Daily Show...well I forgot
the verbatim statement but basiclly everybody has been coralled in
the center because polititions dont take any real stance on anything.
they say what their polls tell em they should say...and over time
you got a nation of people that dont know the difference between
republican and democrat....more and more there aint a difference.

everyone is either alienated or fucking braindead and in the middle

...Ah too much thinking....Shloemoe must rest.....

Just because you look at both sides of the issues rather than voting one way, the left or the right, does not mean that you are a centrist.

It means that you are not a sucker to the 2 party system and can evaluate on your own opinion. Not the opinion of a mainstream party.

One might find that you neither fit into Democratic or Republican party by doing this. Hardly a centrist.

Someone who looks at the issues and decides for themself, their opinion is not formed or influenced by party lines is far more the individual than the mainstream parties any day of the week.

I dont need the Reublikcans or Democrats telling me hoe I should think on any issue. I can decide for myself thank you.

To be honest we are all talking about 2 different things...what we believe

There's only two sides to a piece of bread....ya can't butter it

Death of a great texas Democrat

Post by The Rizen shloemoe »

Back in the early 90's the redneck state had a woman govenor.
After a triumphant adminstration she lost to G.W. Bush.
Ann Richards has died tonight of cancer at 73...made a cameo on
"King of the Hill" once..had a thing for Bill...what a sweety!

No, dipshit. I actually consider each issue when it comes up. I don't blindly side with the left or the right regardless of what they say. Therefore, I, unlike you, actually think for myself. I don't let a political group control my thoughts and ideas. Now then, go off and follow your flock of sheep off the cliff.

Haha. Well put, Glenn! I couldn't agree with you more. I'm glad to see not everyone here is a retard like Shloe. He believes that by blindly siding liberally on EVERY issue without even thinking about it makes you a real "thinker." In fact, that kind of stupidity represents the very people who DON'T think at all. They just vote for the left without considering what the politician is saying or what his stance is on any important issues. And as for what you said, shloe, that politicians wind up not taking a real position...not true. Bush clearly stated what his objectives and beliefs were. And we STILL voted him in for a second term. Why? Because your almighty liberal candidate couldn't take a stance on any issue. As blatantly incompetant and unqualified as Bush proved himself to be for president, he still defeated Kerry. Doesn't that tell you anything? You want a Democratic president in office, offer the people a choice worth voting for. If not, suffer the consequences of four more years of Bush.

Wow, what a warped view of the voting process. What you don't realize is that you're just as ignorant and closed-minded as all those "redneck" Conservatives you hate so much. You think just because you don't have a southern accent and that you didn't vote for Bush that makes you any more of an intellectualist? According to how you vote, you don't think at all. You merely follow. You're a conformist. Of course, given the type of thought process that I've seen from you, maybe not thinking is a good thing. But still, take my advice. Learn to think for yourself. Don't let a political group (or anyone really, for that matter) tell you what to do or how to think. A real "thinker" is someone who looks into an issue, considers all sides, then only after actual deliberation and evaluation, comes to a conclusion. Not simply looking at what letters comes after the candidate's name.

Not so Shloemoe,

Some people vote their conscious and what they beleive to be is right. There is dignity in that. People who feel they have to vote red or blue to have power, or a wasting their votes, are simply voting for what they dont beleive. There is something wrong with that to me. It's probably why so many people dont vote, they are not being represented.

The red are rich and the blue are working class is such an over simplification it is not funny.

Although there is strong 2 party sytem in the US other countries like New Zealand have changed the system to represent as many parties who win seats. Same as the new iraqi government.

8 years ago Ralph Nadar got 5% (may have been 6%) of the presidential vote which was supposed to enable him to get federal funding as a third party. (When he ran for the Green Party). Of course he was screwed over in the deal somehow. They back dated the law or something. What a ripp off.

Right!...There IS something wrong with that..but that's how it IS...starting to feel like the pope

The red are rich and the blue are working class is such an over simplification it is not funny.

yes it is an oversimplifacation...for the purposes of this disscusion.... people who vote republican and are not rich are either
seeking to become rich...voting on tax concerns...voting on bible
concerns...or something else the rich convinced them was their own
....some examples of those who might vote republican.

Although there is strong 2 party sytem in the US other countries like New Zealand have changed the system to represent as many parties who win seats. Same as the new iraqi government.

Yes America is insane

I would have voted for him too had he not seemed the kinda guy who would be unwilling to use military force when need be...two party
system buddy...off the ballot with ya...

Im kinda feeling like Socrates did about democracy. In general when the planet has been sucked dry because people voted to support the
rich over their own interests(and felt they were voting their conscious)
when the forests are gone and it's a hot as hell free for all....maybe

you know what's funny about that?...Blue used to be the color
associated with the republicans(true blue)..and red used to be
associated with the democrats(Commy reds)

The news media changed all that with their domographic maps
over the last few elections
...there's just a small harmless example of how effective the
