Actually, Weezer produced "Pinkerton" themselves. Ric Ocasek of the Cars produced their debut album "Weezer" & their 3rd "The Green Album".
The New Cars have recorded & just started on tour with Todd Rundgren on lead vocals. Ben Orr died in 2000 & Ric Ocasek is done with the Cars so only the non-singing original members are still with the band. I don't know how they sound.

I liked their first two albums..The Cars and Candy-O...after that they started to bore the fuck outta me.I did like "Drive" from Heatbeat City.
