A simpler time....

When I was a kid Orange County still had a thriving agriculture
base...Mom's worked for a company(one of the oldest in OC)
that let employee families pick the leftovers from the fields
after the bulk of the crop was harvested. I spent some time
around the packing houses and saw lots of the heritage of what
was California represented in the art of packing crates...you know
south of tustin was all farmland back then...it's a shame that that's
all gone now....here's a peek...

Or....where OCIR (Orange County International Raceway) was...all orange groves...now...houses and buildings.....~sigh~

Bulldozer....Some of the BEST farmland in the world...turned into mission
or ranch stlye homes made of 2x4's,stucco n drywall 10 feet apart as far
as the eye can see.... swimming pools...movies stars .....were all movie

I have lots of memories of OCIR...my dad was a huge top fuel/dragster fan and he raced VWs....I was actually Miss VW in 1980.....

Yep I remember OCIR... went a couple times, I had a couple friends
who were staff there....I remember those names Don Purdome....
Shirley muldowney...Big Daddy Don Garlits....insane stuff!
