They have punk roots...as do Social D....Offspring....etc....it's the crossover that makes Bad Religion not be the "saviors" of punk...IMHO....with that said...I like Social D...Bad Religion and Offspring....and they ALL site the Adolescents as well as many others as influences (ok...maybe not Social D...because Ness et all were friends with the boys in the Ads and around at the same time).....

concert sucked Eddie Veder was sick and only played 7 songs, all slow ones and he was sitting down the whole time, then they brougt Neil Young on to take his place and they played the whole "Mirror Ball" album. It was hot too!
