It gos without saying...
but my thoughts are with all of you in LA today, An Naomh Latha Phadraig or St. Patrick's day for Gidget's send-off.
It was she who brought me to the shack in an "exchange visit" from the old Jonesy blog. Glenn went to the blog and I came here.
Ain't that right Glenn?
Warmest regards.
CwA.

She would have really enjoyed her sendoff... She was loved, and by alot of people. Jameson and Guinness were in attendance. Friday night, at the Doll hut, there was a barstool, with her "security bitch" shirt, her doggie flashlight, a PBR, and her little leopard purse... Saturday, everyone cleaned up and went to the service, Friends and family talked, Danny and Dylan played a few songs, the Deacon said some psalms, and we cried... Then, we went to Himself's uncles house, and ate and drank, and cried, and sang, and hugged, and missed her... Then we went to Ricky's house and did the same thing.
Tonight, we go to Branagan's Irish pub, which she called her "happy place" and celebrate her life some more... I know she's checking on the boards, and watching us all, and smiling...

It is true CwA. Now I have someone to chinwag about Rugby. It is hard to spark up a decent conversation about such things in Cali.chriswasanon wrote:

I attended the service but not any of the parties. It was a memorable occassion and a great sending off for Gidge.
Full points to hbsteel for her pep talk and getting people to mingle.
Nice to meet One Old Punk too. He seemed like a nice guy.
Spoke to Jack there also.
Some other nice peeps I met and also finally met the famous "himself"

I kept meaning to say Hello, Glen - but I wasn't operating in my normal "social butterfly" mode... Thanks for being there - it was good to see you.

Branagan's was great, Danny and Dylan played a few songs for Gidge, and I don't think there was a dry eye in the house. Gooch, Schlo, RobertKP, Tom, and Ricky were there representing Jack's shack... Gidge would have been happy to meet you guys! Thanks again for showing up, and participating in the evening! I can't wait to see those pictures posted up here... Especially the extra special one for Rotter...

I missed another event?! ;( And I missed One old punk too? Bah. This is what happens when you wake up at 7pm.... I'm glad I heard pics of the event. Can't wait to see everyone who comes on here. I still haven't slept yet, thinking of all the people who've dissapeared. My friend that OD'd on heroin 2 months ago's bday is this week and I can't stop thinking about him or gidge... sigh...

It was tough getting up this morning but I had a great time at Branagans. So great to finally meet Goochie, July & Little Jack, Ricky, Tom, Riff, Danny & Dylan & everybody else. Oh yeah, that big hairy guy too. I had a great time hanging with you, Shloe!
Speaking of Danny & Dylan, I remember seeing them at Rhino Records Claremont when John Doe played an acoustic set there a couple years ago. Craic Haus is playing a full rockin' show at The Press in Claremont on March 31 & I told the guys I'd be there.
Can't wait to see the pics. I hope I smiled. I never know.

Sounds better than "hoisted up by their proper underthings, and nestled in their shirts"... Of course, Goochies are firmly under her shirt... Mine however, are accordian folded, and contained in undergarments manufactured by NASA, i think...DIsPervertNurse wrote:Notice she said FIRMLY!!! A little late, but I wanted to thank you guys for the warm thoughts. It's been a hard couple of weeks. Gidge meant a lot to me. You newbies don't know this, but its because of her and Miche that I'm now known as Gooch. Over two years ago Gidge and Miche set up a "meet and greet" for us Indie people at some seedy motel in Hollywood. Gidge was going to go as Larry Flynt and Miche was going as Hugh Hefner. They needed a Bob Guccione, so I volunteered and from that day on, Guccione was shorten to Gooch. I didn't make the party that night because I had to work, but from the reports, everyone had a good time. Some of the guys even got proposition on their way in by some "ladies" of the night.
I think I finally got to meet Gidge about a month later and she was just the same in person as she was online. Actually, I think that was the first time we met Glenn too. We all had brunch together. Ever since then, she has always been there for me, even during X-mas. She HATED X-mas and would refuse to celebrate it. However, she did come over to my house so that I wouldn't be alone. We are both technically orphans. All we did was eat and sleep for the weekend. During the awake hours we'd watch the Lifetime movies and make fun of the characters. I'm going to miss that...

I met her for the first time at that "seedy" motel and was the first time I got smacked by gidge! Ever since then, my world hasn't been the same... And then she kept popping up at all the punk shows I went too and we would talk forever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever.... And ever.... I'll miss that too...Gooch wrote:A little late, but I wanted to thank you guys for the warm thoughts. It's been a hard couple of weeks. Gidge meant a lot to me.
