Well as a pirate(AAARRRR!) I gotta say that it
might not hurt music as an artform so much if
the artists struggles to create art rather to make
his/her label richer...but then.....well you know...
AAARRR!!!!
what?...what?...nobody wants to argue this
point?...did somebody give assholitis the new
URL?....this is a contencious issue!..nobody?
..aaarrr!....nobody?...what?, i can say anything?

hmm I think you mean The Fleiss. There is a punk banc called the Flies though. I think it is good to let people sample your music also but this article suggests that it is not spurring music sales but showing decline in cd sales etc.
I also think that people are downloading whole albums, not just one song.
I was a mad Naptser user when it first came out.
I agree with most of your points though. You make some good points.
I differ from the point of view that if the property does belong to the artist or label then it is their right to not allow people to download it. It is also the right of them to allow downloads if they so choose.
I feel that it is probably in their interest to allow it (at least some of it) though and produce a good enough product that people wil buy it.
