I liked, "Smell the glove."
I went to a heavy metal fest Shloe - I didn't mind it.
So what do you reckon on this line-up?
Dio was there. Never heard of that lot at the time
Whitesnake - guilty of love. Only knew them because of the single.
Twisted sister - not so twisted I thought pulled in a fair bit of publicity.
Diamondhead - what happened to them? Who were they even?
Meatloaf - well that was alright, 22 people on a stage all playing guitar.
Four helicopters appeared too and flew over the top of the Festival site and then Cozy Powell beat the hell out of his drums (1814 overture,)
fireworks in the drum kit. Bomm shallacka laacka boom!
ZZ Top played all the Eliminator stuff, none of the dirty tunes from Deguello

What ever these purists say, I felt more comfortable at that gig than I would have had at a Kajagoogoo one or at the synth wailing of Erasure.
I saw Page once or at least people assured me it was Page, this bloke turned up in this marquee at this Festival in East Anglia and plugged his guitar in and played the most amazing stuff for half an hour one Sunday afternoon and then pissed off. I was very very stoned in those days.
Jimmy Page may well have worshipped Satan or at least The Great Beast 666 Crowley but the Satanism thing was just a silly pose at the end of the day I reckon. Especially with bods like Manson running with those ideas now and the way death metal seemed to overtake everything.
I must be old, there are a group from Dumfries called Turbyne and they make the most hideously appalling noise ever, their lead singer sort of grunts the lyrics in his throat like a deranged dog man type thing. The guitar work is all that bass lead choppy stuff and all in all, it's dischordant un melodious thrash. I must be old. They tell me it's very fashionable.
Smell the glove!
