KCRW AND PARIS HILTON. HUH?

KCRW DJs have been music supervisors for film and television since, well, the beginning of KCRW time. This summer, you can hear their brilliant contributions to some of the most compelling, provocative, and entertaining movies, commercials and television shows out.

Brave New World host Tricia Halloran is the creative mind behind the music in the infamous Carl's Jr commercial. . .you know the one: Paris Hilton writhing to Cole Porter’s I Love Paris sung by KCRW fave, LA-based singer, Eleni Mandell. Tricia works at HUM Music which is releasing the song as a single this summer. Wanna be a Hilton? You might want to practice dancing to this first.

The Open Road’s Gary Calamar has been the music supervisor on HBO's Six Feet Under since it was born. Sadly, this season is the last. But not without bequeathing us with a stellar soundtrack. Gary and his partner in crime, KCRW DJ Thomas Golobic put together Volume 2 which is in stores now. At least we can all mourn to a beat.

Music Director and Morning Becomes Eclectic host Nic Harcourt listens to over 400 CDs a week from artists in LA and all over the world. For his role as music supervisor on Dukes of Hazzard, Nic traveled to Nashville to get in character for the job. Daisy, Bo and Luke have never sounded cooler. Look for Dukes of Hazzard in theatres August 5.

Another synergistic alliance in the music world: skate-pic Lords of Dogtown brought in The Drop's Liza Richardson to music supervise a film that takes place in our very own backyard. The film is in theatres now - don’t miss it.

Cathy Tamkin, host of Pop Secret, makes her music supervising debut for the Oxygen Network film, Nadine in Date Land, starring Janeane Garofalo. Cathy’s style crosses every genre, and this film is no exception. Check it out and tune in to hear her eclectic sound this Saturday night for the film’s premiere.

The ever-evolving Metropolis host Jason Bentley always has something cutting-edge up his sleeve...in stores June 21 is his latest music supervision project, the video game and companion soundtrack, Destroy All Humans.

Chris Douridas’ music supervising career continues on its dynamic trajectory. Already under his belt, high profile films like Shrek 2, Austin Powers and American Beauty, and now this year’s Sundance Film Festival buzz flick, The Chumscrubber due in theaters August 5th.
