On KROQ this morning

They are doing a relief thing like everyone else, and if you give $1000 they will play a 90's song of your choice. Some lady gave $2000 and then asked them to play Creed. They couldn't bring themselves to play Creed though, so after much deliberation and hate email they played a clip that was 15 seconds long. THey couldn't bring themselves to torture their listeners that way

yep, they are having a flashback weekend and they have a promo where the play parts of songs and at the end they play some Hootie and the Blowfish, then shoot them with a shotgun

Jeez. I hate Creed just as much as the next guy, but if a lady is kind enough to donate $2000, then she deserves to hear Arms Wide Open if that's what she wants to hear. She should sue KROQ for breach of contract!

Actually, it's not that Creed is too lowly for them otherwise they would never have played them and that certainly wasn't the case back in the late 90s when Creed was all the rage. They only stopped playing them because the majority of their listeners started to realize how phoney and manufactured Creed sounds and a backlash against them started. I bet if Limp Bizkit comes out with a new album now, KROQ will say how Fred Durst sucks, cause most of the Limp Bizkit fans have grown up and moved on to better music. It's kind of like how they let Motley Crue headline the Weenie Roast and then Kevin and Bean mock them after they find out none of the KROQ listeners actually listen to 80s hairspray metal.

I think Fred Durst pissed all his fans off by trying to pull wool over their eyes with that Guitar Center promotion (if you win you be the new guitartist for limp biskit) in the end he was eventually exposed as a fake and liar.
It turned out they had already hired the new guitariest before the competition began so they where just promoting the name. What a wanker. All these kids though they had the chance to get a shot at the band. I guess people stared figuing out when you would show up for your 30 second audition and the wasnt even there.
I dont think he would have to many fans left even he did something good. Which is unlikely.

Haha. Oh really? I didn't know they had already selected the guitarist. That whole contest was so cheesy anyways. "Win the chance of a lifetime to play in a major band." As if Fred Durst actually gives two shits about his fans. Yeah, there's so many reasons to despise Fred Durst - media whore, dueting with Christina Aguilera, horrible music, It's only fitting they got booed off stage at Summer Sanitarium two years back. And this was a show featuring Metallica, Linkin Park and Mudvayne, so you know these fans weren't very particular about their music. Now a days the most exposure Fred Durst gets is appearing on Pauly Shore's reality series.
