White Stripes Release Live Single
Nov 04, 2005

The White Stripes will release their latest single, "The Denial Twist" on November 14 in the UK. In a unique, er, twist, the band will record each live performance of the song during their sold-out UK tour and make it available as a download to fans who would like a digital souvenir of the show. The Stripes don't just stop there: to make audiences members feel even cooler, each person in attendance will get a blank CD-R with artwork specific to that show, so they can burn "The Denial Twist," onto something a little more personal than just a cold, grey disc. Americans will still be able to download the live tracks from the XL Recordings website. Though American fans won't get the personalized artwork, they can view it on the XL Recordings site and wallow in that uniquely-American feeling of smug superiority and nagging, subconscious dread.

the article is about them recording their shows, giving fans black cd's w/ artwork on them and then letting them burn the show so they can have a copy!
