Matisyahu

Okay, so I don't know if this is old news or not, but have you guys heard this artist that Indie is playing called Matisyahu?! The song is called King Without A Crown. It's like a mix of reggae/ska/hip hop/house and it is so original and great, I loved it immediately. Well, I did some looking into it and it turns out that not only is this a reggae/hip hop artist but...he's a Hasidic Jew. Like hardcore Jewish, with the full on beard and top hat. He doesn't even perform on Friday, the Sabbath. It sounds all really odd, but it comes together really nicely. Here's a clip I found of his performance and interview on Jimmy Kimmel. Enjoy.

Okay, i just saw that clip and it was pretty insane. that guy is something else.... really bizzare. Interesting and his music is pretty good, but people please stop singing WITH THE FAKE JAMAICAN ACCENTS!!!! He's from NY for heaven's sake, where did he pick up the accent and why is it only on when he sings and not when he talks!?
