"You can get anything you want at Alice's Restaurant, excepting Alice."
It's a Thanksgiving classic. Arlo starred in the movie too, directed by Arthur Penn (Bonnie & Clyde, Little Big Man).

i only remember something about getting locked up with "father-rapers".

BiLzamo - When he recieved his draft notice and went for the physical, they found out that he had been arrested for littering and sent him over to sit on the "Group W' bench with all the "mother-stabbers & father-rapers".

Annie - If you were referring to my avatar, I've never heard of the band Junip but I will look them up. I just found this on a Halloween graphics site & I liked it. Not that I'm evil or anything...

Gidge - I'm very impressed!

And then they asked...KID....what ya get....and I said I didn't get nothin' but pickin'up the garbage in the the snow and LITTERIN......and they all moved away from me on the group W bench there...hairy eyeballs and and law gearin' guys...my ...FATHER RAPERS....sitting on the bench there to me and they had the balls for laughin' at me and litterin.....until I said...and CREATIN' A NUISANCE....and theu all came back and shook my hand ubtil Officer Obbie.....

It's a Jose Gonzalez project (Sweden). I'm not sure how developed they are... they only have an L.P. They're pretty good, although not as good as Jose Gonzalez's solo music.

BTW, welcome neighbor RobertKP. I live in Claremont, just a hop, skip and a jump from you.

Thanks Gooch & Annie

Thanks Gooch. That's right neighborly of you. I noticed that you were in Claremont. Obviously, not all Indie103 fans are in LA/OC. Of course, you lose the signal if you go much further east. I love Claremont Village - Rhino, the Folk Music Center, all the good restaurants! Downtown Upland just isn't quite as much fun but we have a few good shops & eateries.

Hey Annie, I love the Junip songs - Black Refuge & Official. I listened to some Jose Gonzalez samples too - very nice, new folk with latin guitar but I think I need to find that Junip album. I'll look for it when I go Amoeba this weekend. Thanks for the tip. You rock!

Thanks Robert. I'm glad you liked it! I love Jose Gonzalez ... the way he plays guitar is amazing.

Indie is worth listening through static for.

It sounded a lot better on my old stock radio, it made Indie sound more indie. I guess I can look for something to boost my radio reception.

I work in Orange and I can keep Indie on the car all the way there but can't get it on my radio inside the hospital. I'm only allowed to listen online until 7am. The Nerve! Except when I work nights, then I listen online all night, except when the Stupid-cide Girls are on Sunday night. UGGHH!

That show's alright.... although the "we're bi and guys should think that's hot!" got old fast. My favorite shows still remain as Feel My Heat and Passport Approved.

SG are hilarious. Saw their last show at the El Rey. I want to be a Suicide Boy.

Oops, that wasn't a guest. Twas me. Forgot to log in. Old age, you know.
Back to the Suicide girls - I'm sure they put on a great show. I just don't need them on the radio but hey, that's just me. I know they score high on the podcast ratings. My favorite podcasts, however, are the JadeBelle/ Whispered Pearls shows featuring our very own Michebel. (plug, plug)

How awesome, Indie wants to sign up a bunch of beer guzzling frat boys and their parents to listen to Indie. Are these really the targeted demographics?

I thought there was going to be a live band and the girls would do their show to that. So I was a little disappointed when it was all piped in music.

That's assuming, of course, that Gidge actually LISTENED to the two Street Teamer girls' podcasts...

...dollars to doughnuts...

(course, we do mention her in the first one, so maybe she did...)

I sense tension in the air and I'm not comfortable getting stuck in the middle so I'm just going to lie low and stay very quiet for the rest of the night.

Glad I could help. I like knowing you are still out there. If you get depressed, just e-mail and I'll talk you down, act the fool or compliment you until you just can't stand no more. :D

Aw, what a sweetheart. And just when I was about to give up on men...hmmm...

And it's become a regular party here at Jack's Shack tonight. Four whole people at once! Wild.

Robert, we MUST meet up at the Indie event. Jade is gonna be there too.

And for the record, I don't generally make it a habit to comment on things that I haven't at least LISTENED to....unlike some...~bigger eye roll~

For sure! It will be a blast to see the show and finally meet Jade & you and anyone else from here. The place will be packed though, so we need a strategy to find each other. I haven't been to the Shrine in ages.
I asked my wife to come too but she politely declined. She doesn't listen to Indie and has no interest in the bands. I have to keep reminding her that Jonesy was a Sex Pistol and not just some strange guy on the radio that she wishes I would turn off.

I'm not worried. I like everyone I've talked to on this forum. Even Annie :D Gidge, you were the first one to welcome me when I joined and that meant a lot to me. This place is a lot of fun but way to addictive. At least I spend less time on Myspace now.
