WEDNESDAY--Some comedian guy. Forgot his name. Involved with HGTV.
THURSDAY-- DAVE RODRIGUEZ. Great film talk for four hours, all about the MethodFest and the film "Push." Downside: it's the director's film. Upside: he gets Chazz Palminteri on air, discussing why he takes low-budget indie projects.
FRIDAY-- JOE ESCALANTE Very cool. He's obviously used to being on air.

Morning Becomes Eclectic Weighs In: Right at the close of what would have been the MMS timeslot on Thursday, MBE plays this awesome new song (by SONDRE LERCHE): "Everybody's Rooting For You." (I took it to mean Indie...) Very cool, Nic.

When it is Indie related....and Indie is doing what YOU want....you don't have an opinion other than they rock...of course...when they make you unhappy...we all have to hear you rant....kind of like when you thought that MySpace had excluded you because of your age...I believe that you mentioned a lawsuit over that...when you were just in the wrong log in section and hadn't been excluded at all.....

That was quite a different time. Pretty wacky stuff.

It's so great to have everyone documenting my every mistake like this. Whatever would I do without you guys?

Oh, and there will be absolutely NO dissent anymore whatsoever. I LOVE what Michael Steele is doing with Indie these days.

I'm not denying that happened.

I was wrong. Mea culpa. What the hell do you want me to do?

And even if I apologize, the moments live on forever, with you who document them. What can I do?

He played them last week. Check the records. (I'd have to check mine, but offhand, I'd say that was Monday's show, 4-3; probably close to 3:30, but that's just a guess.)

Oh yeah, I forgot. You don't listen to Indie, so how would you know?

Call him up and ASK him then. (He played them right in a row.)

And, you might be interested to know he's playing more of that punk stuff you so love. You should listen.

Yeah, see, JR, the only one on this board who clearly knows what MY INTEREST is is me.

Trust me, there are plenty of topics I stay away from.

Like that one that I wasn't invited into, for example. :)

I love you from the cradle to the grave"; BLACK BROTHERS--Give Me Lovin' ; "oui, c'est la folie"; FRANK SINATRA I've Got You Under My Skin; DANKO JONES Hot Damn Woman

Jonesy Moments: The guitarist from Blondie, Frankie, talks about the Hall of Fame thing; ROBERT JOHNSON Stop Breakin Down Blues; Jonesy and Shovel discuss how hot tubs have replaced cocaine as the way to get crumpet back to your place; The best of Bond: Dr. No; CRAIG FERGUSON in studio!!!!! god, is he hot!!!; PLACEBO Meds; MOHAIR Talk of the Town; great special effects on Jonesy in his castle (you had to hear it)

Fact I Learned on Jonesy's Jukebox: Average White Band is actually SCOTTISH!!!

Word Learned on Jonesy's Jukebox: "feather cup"

JUKEBOX Quote of the Week: "maybe if I blow harder, I'll get all that white stuff out of it" (I think he was actually talking about cleaning his harmonica...)

GREAT Idea!: A CD of all of Jonesy's made-up songs! Brilliant! Please do.

TK Moments: Bedouin Sound Clash in studio!; Rocco DeLuca thanks Indie profusely for playing their record, plays in studio; TK's new "None More Black" set introduction

For Dicky: "I learned how to raise my voice in anger Yeah, but look at my face, ain't this a smile?"; "Now that the damage is done, say goodbye. Let the new flag fly"

New Mornings: FRIDAY--Alex!!! (what a great show!)
MONDAY--No host. (Just great Indie music.)
TUESDAY--No host. (Just great Indie music.)
WEDNESDAY--Alex! Great radio this am. Liz's news segs are snappier; Rob Dickinson plays live in studio ("My Name Is Love" and "Oceans"). Man, I wish that was a podcast! Alex and Rob discuss what is really punk rock, and how the Ramones aren't. EdJEWcation Minute! (All about the meaning of seder.) Great great stuff. Alex gives props to Joe Sib's Complete Control and Jonesy (who built Indie). And Liz's book. Alex rules.
THURSDAY--Mr. Shovel in the Morning! Where does one begin? Easily the funniest morning show ever on Indie, fantastic music, listener calls (also funny), tons of new music. Bush jokes! Very political. And Jesus Christ Superstar for Easter. What a fabulous morning show.
FRIDAY-- TK! TK talks about how much he digs Gnarls Barkley's new tune, and how he used to do morning radio in San Diego.

Overall morning items: LOVE the surf music behind Surf Junky Jeff's reports now. Tony: please run the board. Don't talk.

Morning DJ Winner:
Last Week: Alex, Friday
This Week: Tough call--definitely between Wednesday, Thursday and Friday!

Honorable Music Mentions: THE PIXIES Alison; THE DAMNED New Rose; MY MORNING JACKET Off the Record; CAKE Never There; RANCID Ruby Soho

Huh? "someone light a candle at the northeast corner of Selma and Vine, would ya?"

Very Interesting: The Darkness and Tommy Chong ID

Very Interesting, part 2: "stop texting me, you're engaged."

Passport Approved Moment: More German music! Listen April 29--FOUR HOURS of German music, with a special guest from Berlin.

Camp Freddy Moment: Rebroadcast with Gwenyth Paltrow

Harmony In My Head Moments: Henry tells a story about how Blixa Bargeld (Einsturzende Neubauten) had a dream about spaghetti being hit by a hammer, and music coming out, which resulted in the song he played: Wassertürm (Water Tower). There isn't a show of Henry's that goes by that I don't kiss the ground I walk on for Indie being around. Such music!!! Incredible. Alive. Ecstasy.

The Red Zone Moments; And then, there's Cha Cha. Girl, I so love your chick blocks. But all the music was rocking this time.

Check One Two Moments: DOLLYROTS Out of LA, TIME AGAIN Lost in Hollywood, THE AGGROLITES Mr. Misery, GRAM RABBIT Slopoke, DIOS (MALOS) Hermit, LO MAS REPUBLIC Falling Apart, all the RUN RUN RUN songs, VLA You Can't Stand to Love Me, IMA ROBOT I'm Alive

Commercials of note: Chuck's wine connaisseur cracks me up; TK's AIS rules the airwaves

Phrase/word of the Week: (SHOVEL) Hot Tub/(JONESY) Jacuzzi

New song that I'm not sure about yet: THE DUKE SPIRIT Cuts Across the Land; FLAMING LIPS Free Radicals
