known as JOHNNY ROTTEN, will host his own radio
show for the recently relaunched San Diego radio
station 91X. Dubbed "Rotten Moments," the show
debuts later this year. Estranged Pistol guitarist
STEVE JONES has been hosting his own radio show,
"Jonesy's Jukebox," for Los Angeles-area indie
rock radio station 103.1FM . . .

John will not be presenting a show for 91X but has already recorded various supportive voiceovers and quotes which the station will be using. Check out 91X on-line via their web site…

Is 91x the station that MeR Shovel came from?

Yeah, not only is John Lydon no Steve Jones, he's also no Halloran.

KBZT is still the best San Diego station.

91X is the station that our own TK used to work at, and that Halloran made into the powerhouse it used to be.

However, all of 91X's good jocks (other than TK, of course) are all at KBZT.

Listen to Halloran's podcasts, if you don't believe me. (I was just listening to his Robert Plant interview today...that man--Halloran, that is--is just an amazing interviewer.)

If 91X was really playing dirty, they'd put Lydon opposite Halloran (2-6 pm). Halloran would still win, though.

All I'm concerned about is that Jonesy doesnt start becoming bored because he is doing this everyday for 50+ weeks a year. I hope he finds things to keep himself interested. He just has to be creative, like David Letterman or Conan O'Brien.

But then he can always fall back on just playing music. I wonder if Jonesy ever found the flock of biRds he was looking for.
