haven't found a fruit or vegatble that is brown on the inside and white outside. I was just saying inregards to Hillary Duff the stunning quality of her music. I did turn Indie off this morning after that trio of songs they played. I'm sure if I'd stayed we would have heard some Hillary Duff

ok...so...the show wasFUCKING GREAT

Tony Cadena was nice...Got a picture with him...Himself wouldn't pose, so too bad for him....Steve Soto looked a little peeved by it all..but hey, he's 42 or so and probably has a day job too...They started out the show by saying NO PIT and that there would be NO Amoeba. Collective groan by the crowd.

The first song they played was Kids of the Black Hole...I could see Himself and the look on his face...Like...here we goooo kids as he headed to what would surely evolve into the PIT...

Since I had just taken him to the ER on SUnday after a skateboard crash, he got the standard HIMSELF fill in the middle name McCIRISH DON'T YOU DARE mom thing from me......I, of course, got the 16 year old patented eye roll....

Next song was Creatures.....kids are crowd surfing and a guy named Dennis who knew where the Methadone clinic and Black Hole records are located in Fullerton is trying desperatly to pick me up....He kisses my hand...and I think...Oh shit, if Himself sees THIS, it's ON.....

Then we had No Funs No friends......the kids are now in a frenzy....the pit is getting bigger and some Motley Cru wanna be is ejected. I am pretty happy about that because the kid looks vaguley dangerous as he shouts I HATE YOU MORE THAN ANYBODY IN THE WORLD to absofreaking nobody....

The band starts into a new song, California Son...it's pretty cool...I notice that all the old punks and people my age have decided to watch and NOT dance...probably a good idea...more kids are thrown out....I tell my son's friends if security comes after them, to just say Hey...THAT'S my mom....Ill go hang out with her I am sorry....

Last song of the night, and what we all came to hear...you got it...AMeoba...the band just tears into it...the kids go nuts...the old people start dancing with one another on the periphery....We are remembering nights at the Nest when we snuck in the back door and past Dave Wright...life is good....

Great show...even though I couldn't see a thing (and felt way old).
Heard that lead singer Tony is now a elementary teacher in Whittier...ah, influencing the youth of tomorrow...
Ya kind of wonder if they wish they had chosen a different band name after all this time...

Were you there??? I couldn't see a thing either...I am guessing that you and I were probably hanging out in the same vicinity...LOL...The Old Fuck Section.....I was wearing the infamous I HATE HIM shirt.....

Yeah, he's actually a Special Education teacher....back in the day...he always seemed kind of...I am not sure that I can actually type what I mean...he always seemed distracted from the people that hung around...like separate...I am guessing now that he was probably kind of shy...he was a really small guy back then...but he was very nice last night..super cool with the La Habra punk contingent and made a bunch of kids smile.....

Like Donkey Kong??? Hmmmmm...I reserve the right to answer that question at another time....LOL

Naaa...what I meant was...that he knew where the Methadone Clinic (he also mentioned that Mental Health was just down the Street too) as well as Black Hole....One stop shopping is how we agreed that area is, in general.....

Ha, that makes sense.

"Hey Hot Stuff, come here often? I know where Black Hole records is!"

Or even better..and a sure fire guarantee on how to make a chick's panties wet....

You and me baby, let's go down to the Methadone clinic and pick up my dose. Once we get out of there, I need to go get my Thorazine. But after that sugar puss...I am free as a bird and ALL YOURS......

I know where Black Hole Records is. It's like less than a mile from my house, my crib, my pad. That get you hot, Gidge?

Yeah, I got to see the Adolescents for free also...but not at the Block. They were a last minute add on at the free Red Hot Chili Peppers/Weezer show in Vegas. I guess the Peppers personally asked them to open up the show. Pretty cool. 8)

Yep, I was there, hanging back in the old folks section....I remember seeing your shirt/you.

My friend and I were toward the back - I was in a white beater/black capris, and my friend was in a red dress (hey, I just sprung it on her and she came straight from work...)

Couldn't convince the kids to come, so I dropped them off at Vans for the 6:00 session.

Did anyone else notice that punk seemed to have skipped a generation? All I saw at the show was 14 year olds and 40 year olds....

Ya know...I think that we shuffled out together...LOL....I actually went home after work, changed, picked up the kid and three of his friends and then headed to Orange (I work in Newport, live in La Habra, so it was hectic).

All my son's friends were there from school....they were the kids crowd surfing...I had to tell 'em...if security comes, just tell 'em you are sorry and you will go stand with your mother (me).

My kid will be 17 next month, so he is my next generation.

There were a few kids that looked like they were about 10 or 11 in the pit too. I am glad that they all had a good time and didn't get the show shut down.

Too bad we didn't know that we'd both be there! Lulu (she's the bartender) at the Doll Hut was there as well....

I too will have a 17 year old (Oct). How the hell did that happen? (yeah, I know)
By next generation, I meant...did you see anyone at the show between the ages of 18-30? Guess there's no accounting for taste (or lack thereof)

by gidgetgoestohell
Nope, I guess there isn't. Of course, I am pretty sure that our parents were probably thinking the same of us.

You son didn't come in with you though, right? This was the first time my son ever went to a show with me. He goes with Jake (his dad) all the time. In fact, they just went to the Hootenany.

I guess he was justified in his concerns about going with me because I wouldn't let him go into the pit at first (he had JUST been to the ER for a skateboard crash). He's a great kid though and isn't bitter, MUCH....LOL
