Tom:
I honestly wouldn't mind them, but they just slog the songs to d-e-a-t-h....and that makes me HEAR them and when I HEAR them it sounds to me like the girls are whining...I dunno, maybe it might just be the meds I am on.....

Speak Slow
Personally, I'm having a strange phenomenon happening. The only access I get to the songs is reading the list on Yes.net, then checking the lyrics. So I READ the songs every day. With new songs (like that MIA Fire Fire one), it's not helpful.
But then I get a chance to listen to Indie on weekends or at night, and I actually hear the songs they've been playing, it's a revelation to me.
So, I liked the WORDS first, of Speak Slow. When I actually HEARD it, I have to say, I liked it. I liked it a LOT more than Walking with a Ghost, actually.
So I don't get so annoyed at overplayed songs. I just don't look up the lyrics every time on those.
--Miche (it's a very strange thing, READING Indie--and 94.9--instead of listening...)

Now, I can tell you I liked Le Tigre alot...and Indie started playing them around the same time as Tegan & Sarah...I liked their influences (like the Slits) and their song was peppy and fun...but T&S...I dunno exactly where Walking with a Ghost took a turn for me and now when I hear them my skin crawls....I honsetly TRIED...really I did I did.....

I was watching Pimp My Ride last night, and as the girl was driving off in her newly "pimped" car, they started playing Speak Slow. Ha! Too funny.
Miche, do you have to sign up for yes.net to check the playlists now? I haven't done that yet, but I might since there's no charge.

the secret password to yes.net
Well, I sure can't figure out that newfangled thing they got going over there. Something about downloads and calling in and rating records. BLECH. I just want the bloody playlists.
So after begging and pleading, the nice man at Yes.Net gave me the secret password. Well, it's not secret exactly, just in REALLY small type.
http://stoneage.yes.com
takes you back to Yes 1.0 (the newfangled thing is 2.0). And you can happily get your playlists as before.
BTW, we are graced with this secret BECAUSE of our InBetweens, Kev, so it's only fair that you get the secret too.
