I like the cover, it's cool.... but Jack White sounds more like a girl than T&S.

White Stripes Cover Tegan and Sara on Holiday EP

Matthew Solarski reports:
While you continue thinking ‘bout your doorbell, and when they’re gonna ring it, the White Stripes are busy planning to sneak on down your chimney to plop an EP under your X-mas tree this December. Just like Santa Claus, except Meg and Jack will arrive on St. Nicholas Day, and they’ll charge you for it.

Walking With a Ghost features a cover of a song by Canadian twin sensations Tegan and Sara as its title track, plus four unreleased live cuts. It will appear in stores via V2 on December 6, although greedy children with computers may snap up "Walking With a Ghost" on iTunes beginning November 14. Sure beats candy canes!

The wish list:

01 Walking With a Ghost
02 Same Boy You’ve Always Known (live in Manaus, Brazil)
03 As Ugly As I Seem (live on KCRW)
04 The Denial Twist (live on KCRW)
05 Screwdriver (live in Manaus, Brazil)

Other Stripes stocking stuffers: Jack and Meg will appear on "Late Night With Conan O’Brien" December 2, following up their antics on "The Daily Show With Jon Stewart" the night before. And Meg White will lend her drum-kit bravura to the soundtrack for You Are Going to Prison, an upcoming film directed by funny-guy Bob Odenkirk. Bing Crosby can shove it: we’re dreaming of a White Stripes Christmas.

The Stripes are presently on a UK tour, after which they will play one night in Iceland, take the ho-ho-holidays off, and then ring in the new year with excursions to Japan and Oceania. Call it the island-o-rama tour! Or don’t:
