lol Awesome pics, Nursey! Always a pleasure to see you posting when you can.DIsPervertNurse wrote:Ya know, the USO is quite awesome for what they do for us! This time they brought Yo Momma from Mtv over and we got to see Wilmer Valdarama (Fez from That 70's Show) and Frankie J. Not that I'm in to that kind of music, it was still pretty fun! They were all super nice! The show was hilarious! Here's a couple of pics!

This actually changes my perception of Mr. Valdarama. I kind of thought he was just another spoiled Hollywood brat, but that is very cool and generous of him to take some time to entertain you guys. In fact, he was leaving a club a few nights ago and there were a bunch of cameras following him around, as they tend to, and I saw him stop to drop some money in a homeless man's cup. Figured he was just playing up to the cameras, but it sounds like he really is a pretty decent guy.
Well take care until we see you here again, and hope to hear back from you soon!
Then you are not meerly a mortal rotter.rotter wrote:I've been to hell and back.
Exactly. When I saw that on cam, I figured it was just a publicity stunt and that if the cameras weren't there, he wouldn't have done it. And that's not even being pessimistic or jaded, just realistic. But after hearing how cool he was to Di and all her fellow soldiers, I'd say that my perception of him has definitely changed. Besides, even if he is just doing this for publicity or to look good in front of the cameras, just think of how many other celebrities there are out there who have cameras swarming over them and yet do nothing to help out others. Publicity stunt or not, that homeless dude some got cash in his cup. When was the last time you can recall seeing Lindsay or Britney give anyone anything whether or not there was a camera shoved in their face? The Rizen shloemoe wrote:assholitis wrote:lol Awesome pics, Nursey! after the show.....dont ya know? )
Does that make me subversive?
Haha. NIN playing a 9/11 show in Seoul, South Korea. That would definitely be a concert of a lifetime to remember. But those are some pretty pricey tickets. Almost as bad as big venue shows over here. Don't they have some kind of 1/2 off soldier discount?! Well, time seems to surely fly. I can't believe you're almost done there. I'm sure it probably didn't go by as quickly for you though. Alaska sounds like it will be a much nicer and safer (albeit colder) tour.DIsPervertNurse wrote:Actually Wilmer and Frankie J were super sweet! They didn't once display anything but a desire to make the troops smile! In fact, I was having a difficult time getting their autographs because some people are just plain rude, yes military members included, and I just tapped Security's leg and asked him if I could get their autographs and they went right over and told each of them that I wanted one and they came right over with no hesitation at all. They were very kind and said Thank You on multiple occasions for what we do. This is Wilmer's 2nd USO tour. And just so you know, they don't make money on these trips. They get paid the same as us military do when we go TDY. Nothing more! So basically the USO pays for their lodging and their food, nothing more. No money is given to the stars to come and entertain us. In fact, the stars have to apply to come over. It's not an automatic thing. It's a really cool thing that the USO does for us. I just wish that more bands and stars would consider coming on USO tours. It's not about the money, it's about the fact that we don't have any entertainment available unless they come over! It's not like I can hop in the van and drive to Ventura or Hollywood like I did when I was in Vandenberg. If they don't come to us, we get nothing! Nine Inch Nails is coming over and doing a Sept 11 show in fact. The tickets are way too pricey though! $130 for ticket and bus. I dunno if I will do that one or not. Black Eyed Peas is playing on 15 Aug over here and those tickets are also $130. Outrageous prices on those 2 shows. But they are in Seoul and in a normal HUGE venue, not the normal club thing like they do here at Osan. Anyways, I only have 50, count them FIFTY, days left and off to Alaska I go! WHEW!
